香港註冊承建商查詢HK Registered Contractor Check

Before you hire a renovation contractor: a checklist

  1. Work out what kind of job it is (job-to-register table) and which register applies.
  2. Ask for the registration number, check it with the verify tool or the official register, and make sure the company name matches the quote and invoice.
  3. Minor works: confirm the register shows the class and type you need (classes explained).
  4. Check the expiry date. On BD registers “@” means renewal was applied for in time, and the registration stays in force meanwhile.
  5. To check for disciplinary records, see the Buildings Department / EMSD official records: BD: Gazette notices of the disciplinary boards, EMSD: register of electrical contractors, Government Gazette.
  6. Get a WR1 after electrical work; ask gas installers for their registration card.
  7. Get a written quote with scope, materials, timetable, payment stages and warranty; avoid paying everything up front.
  8. A register shows registration, not quality or a government recommendation: compare a few.
